Candied Sweet Potatoes are super simple and so yummy! They make a terrific side for so many meals, but they are always a stand-out at Christmas Dinner! This dish is terrific anywhere, of course, but for people in the South, they are a mandatory part of the Thanksgiving meal that cannot be replaced.
Side or Dessert???
They don’t take hardly anytime to put together, but when they come out of the oven, your guests will think you’re a chef! I peel and cube 3 large sweet potatoes and tossed them in a bowl with all the other ingredients; brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and ginger. Once they are all coated, you throw them into your casserole dish for baking. The mini marshmallows come in toward the end of the baking–and in my opinion, they are the star of the show!
