Let’s Shine Some Light
There is so much talk, everywhere we turn, about socialism and all that it could bring. With the pending elections upcoming, all of this is literally everywhere around us. Because of this, first and foremost on my mind, and the minds of so many others, is the question of socialism. I would like to delve a little into this subject and maybe shed some biblical light on the matter.
Laziness & Socialism; Detestable Ideals
One of the two things that I literally hate most in the world is laziness. (The other is dishonesty, if anyone cares.) But I seriously detest laziness. …As it turns out, I’m biblically correct! Hahahaha. …but for real. I’ll explain.
But to start I would like to point out the fact that laziness is a huge problem that is widespread among a specific age group–the late teens to mid-twenties to be more specific. I see it daily–frustratingly so….
There is something about that age group (most likely the parenting influence) that makes them believe that they don’t need to work…but they still want nice things. (I would throw in an eye-roll emoji here if I knew how!)
The Laziness Impact on America
With the upcoming elections, especially the Democrat primaries, it has never been more evident than now that there is a group of people that really want to do nothing (except selfies and social media) and they still want to receive stuff………..free stuff!
Maybe I’m a little sensitive here…maybe I’m going overboard, but I CANNOT STAND THESE PEOPLE! …Taking a little sidestep here, I want to throw in that I am a retired, disabled veteran of two wars. I WORKED HARD for the right of every lazy moron in America to believe as they see fit. …but it doesn’t make them right.
Now, I’m not trying to make people mad or hurt people’s feelings, however, to be honest, I don’t really care if someone is offended by this. I also have the right to my own beliefs and opinions. …mine just happen to be more in line with reality.
The Effect
As Bernie Sanders runs and rises in the polls, his ‘twenty-something’ followers (with the loudest mouths ever) are quick to scream that they want socialism in America, but they can’t answer the simplest questions as to what socialism actually is. (This has been tested and documented on the very college campuses where they “learn” the nonsense that they spew. (Again, an eye-roll emoji would be great here…)
I’ll spare you the details of socialism because, at this point, you’ve got to have heard it all a million times. What I will point out is that the loudmouth people that are his ‘base’ are the very people who do not work, and still want free stuff, based on the ultra-taxation of the people who do work.
What the Bible has to Say
Enter the Bible…. There is literally an answer to every situation that we find ourselves in, in the Bible. The one that I want to point out today is in 2 Thessalonians Chapter 3.
The Thessalonians are letters written by Paul, Silas, and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians. In the part that I am speaking about today, it speaks of ‘warning against idleness’. …Translation–laziness. In listening to the video, you will find more, but the gist of it is that the rule they gave the people was “if a man will not work, he shall not eat.”
This is certainly something that we, as Christians, and as Americans, need to consider greatly right now as we are, again, choosing our leadership, but more importantly, choosing the direction that America takes.
I hope you enjoy the video, but more than that, I hope that you take to heart the message – from the Bible – that God has given us. We are instructed to work for what we have…in no uncertain terms. It’s not a question, it’s not a suggestion, it is a rule, an order and we are expected to follow it.
There are many benefits to following this imperative, both personally and then extending past that. Certainly, outside of the personal benefits, however, are the benefits to our nation. When we all pitch in and do our share, we prosper. This may not be the most popular sentiment to put out in the public square….but I don’t care about that.
I implore you all to look deeply at what socialism truly is… not what Bernie Sanders is ‘telling’ you that it is. Look into the havoc that it has wreaked in other countries and ask yourself if that is something that you would like to experience. But, in all of these things, seek God’s council. I know what He will say….because He has already said it.
